Paver patio and seating wall

This is the job we get asked for most: take the strip of grass behind the house that nobody uses, and turn it into the part of the property everyone sits on.

The patio is laid on an excavated and compacted base, which is the part you never see and the part that decides whether it is still level in ten years. The stacked stone wall doubles as seating and holds the change in grade at the edge of the yard, so there is no awkward drop where the pavers stop.

Steps were set into the wall on the approach from the yard, and the surrounding ground was graded and seeded once the hardscape was finished.
